Redfern Statement Solidarity Breakfast Sydney

Please join us in our Sydney office as we stand in solidarity with those indigenous voices speaking up in Canberra at the Redfern Statement Parliamentary Breakfast.

On the 14th of February, a group of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders will meet with government ministers in Canberra to host the first ever Redfern Statement Parliamentary Breakfast. The Redfern Statement was launched last year by peak indigenous organisations. It outlined 6 priority areas and recommendations for solving indigenous disadvantage in this country. These recommendations were founded on the dual principles of participation and self-determination. You can find some more information on the Redfern Statement here – http://apo.org.au/node/67694

The breakfast on the 14th of February provides an opportunity for us to stand up and let the government know that their progress on this is simply not good enough.

In Sydney, we will be hosting a solidarity breakfast where speeches and behind-the-scenes interviews with attendees in Canberra will be live-streamed. A light breakfast will be provided, and the breakfast will provide an opportunity for you to engage with our campaign on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Rights.

Our Sydney breakfast will be held on Tuesday the 14th of February in our Surry Hills office, starting at 7.30am and running until 9.30pm. A light breakfast will be provided.

Please RSVP so that we may anticipate numbers for food! And of course, bring a friend :).
