Thursday, November 24th, 6pm (for 6.30) @ Adelaide Bowling Club

Join us to celebrate the commitment of Oxfam supporters to ending poverty, as well as for discussion about Oxfam’s work and hear about what’s to come in 2017.

You’ll meet and hear from inspiring staff and supporters including our special guest Richard Simpson, Team leader of the Humanitarian Unit at Oxfam

During his time working with Oxfam Richard has worked throughout Africa and the Middle East focusing much of his work on Zimbabwe and Mozambique, and also in the Horn of Africa response in 2012. Recently he was Oxfam Australia’s response coordinator for the Nepal Earthquake and Country Director in Sri Lanka.

Previous to his work at Oxfam, Richard was a regional coordinator for the Afghanistan Elections and was Chief of Operations for the Iraqi elections in Iran and Australia. He has also worked with the United Nations and Medicos Do Mundo, and lectured in Latin American History at Melbourne University. Richard lives in Melbourne with his wife and two children and enjoys restoring vintage motorcycles and backpacking through Eastern Europe with his children, when he can.

Other special guests include Yvette Petersen, Associate Director Fundraising for Oxfam and Lindy Tallis and Peter Croft, Oxfam Board Member.

Food will be provided and drinks can be purchased at the bar. Get in quick as spaces are limited and this promises to be a very special evening.
